Copy, Paste, and Share!!!-Wallwisher

What is the best way to save all the information collected during group meeting?
How to ask your student to make a presentation without Powerpoint in 10 minutes?
Wallwisher is free web space for you to "paint" your ideas!

What Can Wallwisher Do?

Wallwisher, like its name, is a wall on which you can write texts and paste pictures as well as upload videos you like!

So, how can start it? Please go to HERE, and click "Build a wall".

Now the wall is ready for you to paint!!! (Well, it's quite plain now....)

How can we color it? Like what it say, you can drag a file to the wall directly,
Or double click anywhere at the wall. Then you'll see a small box.
The three little symbol means to add a link, upload a file, take a picture with a camera on your device
(from left to right).

You can add a link from youtube, and then a picture of the video will be shown on the wall.

The wall can be used by many people at the same time so it is great for team work.
You can share the wall simply by copy the link, or through other social network website.

You can change the privacy setting to make the wall open to public or only people invited can see it.
You can also decide who have the right to edit the content of the wall.

Why Wallwisher Can Help Language Learning?

Ok, now, how can Wallwisher help language learning?
Well, first, it is quite common for teachers to organize small groups during class for discussion to practice speaking for communicative purpose.
However, sometimes the size of the class might be a little big or you don't have much time to go around groups to check the process of the discussion.
Some students might talk about the girls in the class next door or just be reluctant to do what you want, so to insure this is a productive discussion and also train their ability to search on different kinds of information, using Wallwisher is a good way to push students to show what they've got.

By the nature of different tasks, students have to use their various skills to achieve what you want.
For example, you can ask them to find travel information about Madrid, which might include hotels, weather, traffic routes, or restaurants, and give them some time to prepare a short presentation to "sell" their package tour! In this task, students have to read information in different fields, and hence get the chance to learn vocabulary in different areas. Besides, the presentation needs some confidence in speaking and creativity for them to come up with an attractive tour.

The wall serves as the best discussion record as well, and is useful for reflection writing. After the group discussion and presentation, you can have a followed up activity, such as designing an advertisement based on the information your group just collected in class. Then this is a task that integrated reading, listening, speaking, and writing.

Wallwisher is Good, But...

Because the text, pictures, and files can overlap one another, so sometimes the wall looks messy, which also increase the difficult to find a specific post if there are too many things on the wall.
Besides, the width of the wall sometimes is bigger than the screen of your computer so you have to drag right or left to see the posts on the edge.
If you build a long wall, then you have to scroll the page down and also drag it right or left, and this might be a little inconvenient.
